Paris is a gorgeous city, but it can be very expensive if you do not know the right places where to stay.

I think that in Paris there are thousands of hotels and in Paris there are thousands of hotels, most of them are expensive and others are cheaper but with bad service. Living a vacation in Paris can be wonderful, but we need to choose a good place to stay.

A good chance is represented by the bed and breakfast, which allow you to live a Paris real, and not the usual holiday. Choosing a Paris bed and breakfast will allow you to live your Parisian holiday not as hundreds of visitors who gather in the hotel, but to dive in the French tradition, French language and much more. Also, the B&B Paris (abbreviation of bed and breakfast Paris) can help you can help to visit new places and not the usual as the Eiffel tower, Notre dame or the Louvre Museum (although I advise you to visit them anyway because they are very amazing).

Emo Hairstyle for 2008

Emo hairstyles are a great way to play around with your look. They allow you to have fun, be creative and unique. An Emo hairstyle treats your hair like a canvas; you have artistic freedom to express who you are, to show off your personal style almost like an art form.

Although there is a wide range of ways to wear an Emo hairstyle, they are often shaggy or spiky. A great sculpting gel will be a good addition to your hairstyling collection. The right hair products will allow you to mold and shape your Emo hairstyle the way you want it to go.

The gel that will be of greatest benefit to you will be one that is very strong with a long lasting hold.

Unlike many other hairstyles, with the Emo hairstyle, you do not need to own or purchase hair equipment such as curling irons or flat irons to maintain your style.

As long as you have good styling products you will be set. Gels and sprays are all that you will need to keep your Emo hairstyle looking its best. The best kind of gels make the hair actually stiff and able to spike up.

How To Style Emo Hairstyles

It is very easy to form your Emo hairstyle into spikes or a funky shag.
All that you need to do are-

1.Start with wet hair
2.Using your fingers work a generous amount of gel through your hair
3.Form your hair into spikes or shape your shag the way you want it
4.Blow-dry your hair
5.If making spikes, add more gel as needed
6.Do not brush your hair out
7.Spray hair well with hairspray for hold.

The beauty of an Emo hairstyle is how un-uniformed it is.

If you were to visit a salon for your Emo hairstyle and find yourself not happy with it later, you could always feel free to make a few adjustments yourself at home.

Although you can cut your own hair into an Emo hairstyle at home, sometimes it is best to visit a trained professional.

This is true even though many Emo hairstyles are asymmetrical and rather choppy.

This is because it is very hard for us to get a good view of how our hair looks from behind.

However, if you are insistent on doing your Emo hairstyle yourself, the good news is that it is impossible to make a mistake.

The whole point of the Emo hairstyle is a unique look unlike what anyone else has.
Therefore a mistake in your cutting could actually turn into an advantage in your Emo look.

The true meaning of SOCIUS and the NEIGHBOR

We've discussed these in our Philosophy class and I enjoyed it since it is one of the way to be "FULLY HUMAN" or a better person in order to achieve our goals in life.

Probably, you'll find these words in English dictionary. FYI, you can't find the word SOCIUS and the they defined NEIGHBOR as a person who live next to your house; I think this is the meaning of NEIGHBORHOOD not NEIGHBOR.

What do you mean by the SOCIUS and the NEIGHBOR?

A French philosopher best known for combining phenomenological description with hermeneutic interpretation named Paul Ricœur clarified those two things.

According to him, Socius is the human relationship that you have with an organized group or the person that you can encounter through his/her social function. On the other hand, Neighbor is the personal way that you can encounter another as a person, the interpersonal, with varying degrees of intimacy.

So, in other words, being a SOCIUS has a social function and NEIGHBOR is the real attitude of a person and has no social function.

Paul Ricoeur also said that there is no Sociology of the Neighbor. Since the Science of the neighbor is thwarted by the praxis(deeds) of the neighbor. Which means, one does not have a neighbor: "I make myself someone's neighbor".

Though, these two are complete opposite they can be as ONE to help us to be "FULLY HUMAN". These two are the two faces of the same charity(PAUL RICOUER).
UHmmm..Why did he said so?
Two faces of the same charity because they have different approaches. The neighbor is whom we knew to be the primary mover of such charity, we thought that they are the only one who is capable or who possessed this deed. But we also have to consider that the socius also had their own face of charity and we can see this through their institutions. The neighbor works their charity in a direct manner, through a man-to-man relationship with others; while the socius was in an indirect manner. They can be of the same charity when they work at the same time. Charity must come hand in hand with justice.

PS: This was one of my favorite lessons during our PHILO 104 because it made me realized some experiences in my past. It really helps me to understand something and being matured enough.Well, thanks to Paul Ricouer and to our teacher.

How to Develop a Photographic Memory

Sometimes aircrew gunners have to make split-second decisions as to whether to fire or not to fire. (It’s important to not shoot at friendly aircraft.)

In World War II, one method used to help gunners speed up their aircraft identification skills was to flash photographs on a screen of the planes they had to recognize. One device used for this purpose was called a tachistoscope (ta kis’ tuh scope). Instructors could vary the duration of the images being flashed on the screen. At times the images would be flashed for just a few hundredths of a second. Blink and you miss it.

Aircraft Recognition Tachistoscope Simulation
(Classroom lights will be off.)
Images may load slowly first time around.

Funny things began to happen. When the gunners were in darkened rooms during this training, their eyes became dark adapted. It was found that many of them were holding on to the split-second images after the images were no longer on the screen. With dark adapted eyes, the images could be retained for a few seconds.

A study was set up to see just what could be done with these retained images. The images were positives instead of the more familiar negative images you get if you stare fixedly for a few seconds at a picture or scene, then look away. Some subjects got so good at the process that after seeing a very short duration image of a page in a book, they could then read the page, from somewhere inside their heads.

The above information was supplied to the writer by Mr. Ray Elkin West Lafayette, Indiana in 1962.

The fact that the subjects could acquire a readable image of a whole book page suggests that their peripheral vision happened to be, or became, more acute than that normally found in the general population. This form of retained visual images may not be accomplished with the same process as done by people who have what is called photographic memories. The writer didn’t thin to ask Mr. Elkin, but the idea of long term storage of the images did not come up.

The writer did not have access to a tachistoscope but decided to try an alternate technique for seeing the retained images. Dark adaptation seemed to be a prerequisite for the short term image retention. One way to dark adapt you eyes is to close them. Its not the same as being in a dark room but one can get a similar effect. Then comes the tachistoscope emulation. Rapidly open and close your eyes. This is not unlike exposing film in a camera. The first few hundred times you try this, you’ll probably get blurred images because your eyeballs aren’t yet convinced to hold still during the exposure. The images will be there but doubled, usually vertically. Keep trying! It’s also wise to make sure nobody is watching you.

After a month or so of your covert camera work you should find that your eyeballs begin to cooperate (the process might be called the steely eye)and images of big things with good contrast start to hang on. Big letters on billboards and soft drink machines make good targets.

With lots of work, assuming you haven’t been put away, you should find that text in books show up in blurry fashion, unreadable, but recognizable as fuzzy text. Large print documents may bring more rewarding results. As time goes on the acuity should improve to the point of readability.

It may be that that tachistoscope simulation near the top of this page, if viewed in a darkened environment, may provide a usable indicator of the process being discussed.

You can cheat, or take a short cut if you please, by using a camera strobe flash in a dark room. Hold the flash unit above or to the side of your head and aim it at an outstretched arm. You’ll see a bright image of your arm that does not immediately fade away. The image may last for two or three seconds. If you lower your arm while the image is still active you can have your own spooky show.

The most expencive cell phone?Le Million

Le Million

There is no need to talk about the significant role of cell phones in our life. The fact that they turned into something really necessary and important explains why almost everybody has a cell phone. Thus, people started paying more attention not just to the functionality of these devices, but to the way they look as well. As a consequence we got a great variety of them pretty looking phones.

Recently Swedish company Goldwish designed Le Million cell phone that is considered to be the most expensive in the world. It's made of red, yellow and white gold and encrusted with diamonds of 120 carats. Moreover its backboard is covered with crocodile leather. As regards the price of this gadget it almost corresponds to the name that was given to this device, yet it's a little bit bigger - 1,43 million dollars.

There is no information about the characteristics of this cell phone and probably this is quite an understandable fact, because they are of no importance. The edition of this gadget is very limited - just three Le Millions will be sold in the world. So everything shows that the uniqueness of the gadget is the only feature, with help of which designers intend to attract people's attention, especially of rich ones.

As far as we - mere mortals - are concerned I don't think that someone will really dream about this cell phone. Of course it looks great, but it's too expensive. Such kind of things should be kept shut up in a safe and not put into the pocket.

Heath Ledger found Dead on his apartment

He may have been playing The Joker, but this is no joke. Actor Heath Ledger is dead. The 28-year-old, Oscar-nominated actor was found in his New York apartment today, with signs pointing to a possible drug overdose, or even suicide, reports Reuters.

The Australian-born Ledger, 28, who was nominated for an Oscar two years ago for "Brokeback Mountain," was found dead by a housekeeper at his apartment in the trendy SoHo neighborhood, police spokesman Paul Browne said.

"We are investigating the possibility of an overdose," Browne said.

The housekeeper found Ledger at 3:26 p.m. (2026 GMT) and tried to wake him for his appointment to have a massage, Browne said. As far as he knew, only Ledger and the housekeeper were in the apartment, Browne said.

"There were pills within the vicinity of the bed," Browne said.

According to TMZ, the pills found in his apartment were sleeping pills, often associated with suicide. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

Our thoughts go out to Heath's family and friends, and to his ex-fiance, actress Michelle Williams, and their daughter Matilda.

Why MUSLIMS don't eat Pork?

Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah. Following text give you reasons why Allah (SWT) has forbidden eating pork. There are many other reasons which we do not know of but ALLAH (SWT) knows.

"You are what you eat" - Native American proverb

In folklore terms, eating the meat of the pig is said to contribute to lack of morality and shame, plus greed for wealth, laziness, indulgence, dirtiness and gluttony. We insult a person by calling him or her a "Pig" when they demonstrate these characteristics. Muslims are forbidden by God to eat the meat of the pig (pork).

This is detailed in verses 2:173, 5:3, 6:145, and 16:115 of the Qur'an. An exemplary verse is quoted here: "He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without willful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits, then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Is Pork Forbidden to Muslims Only?

The Jews and Christians are also forbidden from eating pork. Here is a quote from the Old Testament to that effect: "And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase." Deuteronomy 14:8

Many Christians believe that this verse was directed only at the Jews. But Jesus himself says during the Sermon on the Mount; "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." Some Christians say that, after a vision by St. Peter, God cleansed all animals and made them fit and lawful for human consumption. If ALL animals are cleansed by Peter's vision, this includes dogs, cats, vultures, and rats: but you just don't see people getting excited about a cat-meat sandwich like they do over barbecued pork or bacon. Others say that it was Paul who rescinded the law forbidding pork to humans, in order to appease the Romans, who enjoyed the taste of pig-meat. Many excuses have been given, but none are very sound.

Many Far Eastern traditions also discourage the eating of pork. The 3,000 year old Confucian Book of Rites says, "Agentleman does not eat the flesh of pigs and dogs." Although many Chinese are avid eaters of pork today, physicians of ancient China recognized pork-eating as the root of many human ailments. Buddhists, Jains and Hindus usually avoid eating any kind of meat.

Bad effects of pork consumption

Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs.

Influenza (flu) is one of the most famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is harbored in the lungs of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and humans in the cooler months. Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who eat pork sausage tend to suffer more during epidemics of influenza. Pig meat contains excessive quantities of histamine and imidazole compounds, which can lead to itching and inflammation; growth hormone, which promotes inflammation and growth; sulphur-containing mesenchymal mucus, which leads to swelling and deposits of mucus in tendons and cartilage, resulting in arthritis, rheumatism, etc.

Sulfur helps cause firm human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage. Eating pork can also lead to gallstones and obesity, probably due to its high cholesterol and saturated fat content. The pig is the main carrier of the taenia solium worm, which is found it its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has trichinosis from eating trichina worms which are found in pork. Many people have no symptoms to warn them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are not noticed during meat inspections, nor are they killed by salting or smoking. Few people cook the meat long enough to kill the trichinae. The rat (another scavenger) also harbors this disease. There are dozens of other worms, germs, diseases and bacteria which are commonly found in pigs, many of which are specific to the pig, or found in greater frequency in pigs.

Pigs are biologically similar to humans, and their meat is said to taste similar to human flesh. Pigs have been used for dissection in biology labs due to the similarity between their organs and human organs. People with insulin-dependent diabetes usually inject themselves with pig insulin.

Kindness to animals

Every creature was created by Allah for a purpose. The Prophet always encouraged being kind to animals. Although we should not eat the meat of the pig, it doesn't mean that we should hate pigs. We should show them the same kindness as any other animal, and not abuse or torture them. Pigs score high on tests devised to determine animal intelligence; in other words, they are very smart. It used to be that Europe people believed that pork would taste better if the pigs were kept in a state of filth, but this is not the natural inclination of the pig. When left to their own devices, it is said that pigs do not like to soil their sleeping quarters. As for their tendency to wallow in mud, that is done mainly to keep cool.

Director:Tim Burton
Genre:Crime / Musical / Thriller more
Tagline:Never Forget. Never Forgive.
Plot Outline:Based on the hit Broadway musical which tells the infamous story of Benjamin Barker, a.k.a Sweeney Todd, who sets up a barber shop down in London which is the basis for a sinister partnership with his fellow tenant, Mrs. Lovett.

Awards:Won 2 Golden Globes. Another 4 wins & 12 nominations

Plot Synopsis:
Victorian England is the setting for this harrowing melodrama. Backstory: Benjamin Barker (Johnny Depp) was living a simple, happy life as a barber with his wife Lucy (Laura Michelle Kelly) and their baby daughter when the lust of Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman) ruined their lives. The judge had Barker deported to Australia on a trumped-up charge, then raped Lucy, who poisoned herself in despair. Their daughter Johanna (Jayne Wisener) became the ward of Judge Turpin.

Many years later Barker, now calling himself Sweeney Todd, returns illegally to England with the help of a young sailor named Anthony (Jamie Campbell Bower). He visits the pie shop of Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter), an old friend who recognizes him and tells him what happened to Lucy and Johanna. Then she takes him up to the room he used to rent above her shop, where she has hidden his razors under a floorboard. He's profoundly happy to have them back and decides to reopen his barbershop.

On a stroll through the market, Mr. Todd and Mrs. Lovett stop to watch Signor Pirelli (Sacha Baron Cohen), a mountebank barber and hair tonic salesman. Mr. Todd challenges Signor Pirelli to a shaving competition, to be judged by Beadle Bamford (Timothy Spall). (The beadle is Judge Turpin's sidekick.) Mr. Todd wins handily and encourages the beadle to patronize his "tonsorial parlor."

However Signor Pirelli, who once worked for Benjamin Barker, recognizes the man and his razors. He has blackmail in mind: in exchange for half of Mr. Todd's earnings, Signor Pirelli will refrain from exposing Todd's identity to the authorities. Mr. Todd, enraged, kills Pirelli. Mr. Todd and Mrs. Lovett decide to use the body to make meat pies. Mrs. Lovett appropriates Pirelli's purse and hires Pirelli's servant, the boy Toby (Ed Sanders), to help her in the pie shop.

In another part of London, Anthony the sailor has caught sight of a lovely young woman, identified to him as Johanna by a local beggar woman, sitting at her window in Judge Turpin's house. He's smitten. Unfortunately, Judge Turpin has caught sight of Anthony too; the judge threatens him and has Beadle Bamford beat him up. Not content with warning Anthony off, Judge Turpin decides to marry Johanna to "protect her" -- but, he confides to the beadle, she's unaccountably reluctant. (In fact, she's given Anthony a key to the house and is planning to run away with him.) Beadle Bamford, suggesting that the judge will win his ward's heart if he just spruces himself up a bit, recommends a visit to Sweeney Todd. The judge goes for a shave, but just as Mr. Todd is about to kill him, Anthony bursts into the barbershop asking for help in eloping with Johanna. Judge Turpin leaves in a rage and packs Johanna off to an insane asylum to keep Anthony from finding her.

Furious that Judge Turpin has slipped through his fingers, Todd embarks on a spree of butchery, bloodily killing almost every customer who comes to his shop. Downstairs, business is booming: the bodies all go into Mrs. Lovett's meat pies, which are greatly improved by the change of recipe. Meanwhile, Anthony scours the city in search of Johanna. After he finds her at Fogg's Asylum, Mr. Todd advises Anthony to present himself at Fogg's as a wig maker's apprentice in search of hair the color of Johanna's. The ruse works; Mr. Fogg (Philip Philmar) leads Anthony straight to Johanna and Anthony takes her off to the barbershop, leaving Fogg to be torn apart by the remaining inmates.

Mr. Todd, on the sly, has written to Judge Turpin. Pretending to be eager to regain the judge's good opinion, he tells Turpin that Anthony is eloping with Johanna and will leave her at the barbershop that night while he arranges their escape from London. Toby by this time has begun to suspect that Mr. Todd is dangerous. Mrs. Lovett locks him in the cellar with the oven, the meat grinder, and a few batches of pies. Toby finds a finger in one of the pies and realizes that the unprocessed meat is human remains. Upstairs in the pie shop, Beadle Bamford has very inconveniently arrived to inspect the premises because the neighbors are complaining of the smell. To keep him away from the corpses and the now more than suspicious Toby in the cellar, Mr. Todd persuades the beadle to have a shave first, and of course kills him. The arrival of Beadle Bamford's body in the cellar (via a chute and trap door in the barbershop floor) impels Toby to flee through a drain into the sewers.

While Mrs. Lovett and Mr. Todd search for Toby in the sewers, Johanna arrives at the barbershop to wait while Anthony hires a carriage. Anthony has disguised her as a boy. Looking around the room, Johanna notices but does not recognize photographs of her infant self and her mother, Lucy. She hides in a trunk when she hears someone coming; it's the addled beggar woman who has inhabited the edges of the story since Sweeney Todd came back to London. Todd himself comes in and tells the woman to leave, disregarding her "Don't I know you?" When he hears Judge Turpin coming -- expecting to catch Johanna -- Todd kills the beggar and in short order cuts Turpin's throat as well, sending both bodies down the chute. Todd then discovers Johanna, does not recognize her, and very nearly kills her too. He's interrupted by a scream from the cellar. While Todd goes down to investigate, Johanna apparently escapes; we hear no more of her. In the cellar, Mr. Todd finds that Mrs. Lovett has finished off Judge Turpin, who -- not being quite dead -- startled her by grabbing her dress.

Todd for the first time gets a clear view of the face of the beggar woman; he's horrified to realize he has killed his own wife, Lucy. He charges Mrs. Lovett with lying; she argues that she never said Lucy died, only that she took poison -- and furthermore that she (Mrs. Lovett) only deceived Mr. Todd out of love for him. Mr. Todd waltzes Mrs. Lovett savagely around the cellar and flings her into the oven, where she burns to death. As Todd weeps over Lucy, Toby creeps out of the sewer and cuts the barber's throat with his own razor.
